About the role#
This 16-week internship program places students within the Emergency Management IT team for the Fall 2026 term. You will work alongside System Administrators in a public safety environment, gaining experience with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management Systems (RMS). This role involves a mix of remote, hybrid, and onsite work at customer locations.
What you'll do#
- Maintain Training, Test, and Production environments to support system uptime.
- Use Microsoft SQL Server to perform data validation and complex joins.
- Analyze emergency response data to provide insights on resource allocation and response times.
- Audit RMS records to ensure compliance with state and federal reporting standards.
- Manage user permissions and troubleshoot security bottlenecks within the CAD/RMS ecosystem.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with networking basics and Windows Server environments.
- Ability to obtain a background clearance as required by government customers.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely (sponsorship is not available).
