About the role#
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Developer Intern to join our Actuarial Division for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lansing, Michigan. You will work on data processes and reporting solutions that support our business growth and profitability goals.
What you'll do#
- Create reports, data extracts, and analyses to support business inquiries.
- Build, maintain, and document code used to transform, aggregate, and present data.
- Learn and apply tools and techniques for designing business intelligence solutions.
- Develop an understanding of our internal data sources and data flows.
- Participate in formal and informal training sessions.
- Communicate effectively with team members through verbal and written channels.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework.
- High aptitude for mathematics and statistics.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, Python, or other programming, database, or statistical languages.
- Experience with reporting or dashboarding tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and new processes.

- Location: Lansing, Michigan.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Term: Summer 2027 (typically mid-May through mid-August).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Requirements: You must be able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
