About the role#
We are looking for a PIP Claims Representative Intern to join our team in Lansing for the summer of 2027. This is a paid, part-time position based on-site. You will gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry by managing claims and interacting with policyholders and agents.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims and gather facts to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate losses and analyze legal liability to decide on claim payouts.
- Study insurance policies, forms, and endorsements to build your technical knowledge.
- Manage investigations through phone calls, mail, and on-site visits.
- Ensure all claim payments are accurate and issued on time.
- Support the needs of agents and policyholders.
- Assist with claim resolutions and attend legal proceedings like arbitrations, mediations, or trials when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, specifically entering your junior or senior year.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach to your work.
- Ability to organize and interpret data effectively.
- Skill in handling multiple assignments and resolving complex issues.

- Location: Lansing, MI (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
- Note: You must be able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
