About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Fargo, North Dakota. You will work with our team to help individuals and businesses recover after a loss occurs.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Assemble facts to determine policy coverage and analyze legal liability.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and manage claim payments to ensure they are accurate and timely.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your technical knowledge.
- Work toward claim resolutions, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Support the needs of our agents and policyholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data.
- Capacity to manage multiple assignments at once and resolve complex issues.
- High attention to detail.

- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
