About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Life Annuities Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Lansing, Michigan. You will gain experience in the insurance industry by working directly with our underwriting team.
What you'll do#
- Learn about insurance coverages, contracts, company philosophy, and internal procedures.
- Review company policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements to understand their practical application.
- Analyze financial conditions, loss experience, and the physical characteristics of various risks.
- Develop a working knowledge of the different sections within the underwriting department.
- Communicate with independent agents and internal staff through both written and verbal channels.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program, specifically entering your junior or senior year.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Ability to organize data, handle multiple tasks, and make independent decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to resolve complex issues.
- Interest in building product knowledge through company educational programs.
