About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, part-time position based on-site in Lexington, Kentucky. You will support our team by managing the claims process and assisting our policyholders and agents.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims and assemble facts to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability.
- Decide whether to pay or deny losses.
- Issue claims payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
- Handle investigations through phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Work toward the resolution of claims, including attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials if needed.
- Provide service to agents, policyholders, and other stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- You are currently enrolled in college and entering your junior or senior year.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach to your work.
- The ability to organize and interpret data effectively.
- Skill in resolving complex issues and managing multiple assignments at once.
- You must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
