About the role#
The AlphaWise Summer Associate Program is a 10-week opportunity to work on quantitative projects within the Morgan Stanley Research department. You will join a team focused on data and analytics, working alongside Equity Analysts, Strategists, and Economists. The program begins with a training curriculum to build professional skills before you transition into your assigned project. You will have access to ongoing training and networking sessions throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and develop models using market and alternative datasets.
- Identify correlations among company and industry KPIs, valuations, and stock returns.
- Use Generative AI and NLP models to extract insights and automate research workflows.
- Source and test new research ideas in collaboration with cross-sector teams.
- Produce deliverables including presentations and research reports.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Finance.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- A solid academic foundation in mathematics and statistics.
- Proficiency in Python or a programming language such as C/C++, Java, R, or Matlab.
- A demonstrated interest in financial markets.
