About the role#
This 10-week summer internship at Parametric, part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, provides hands-on experience in financial services. You will contribute to real projects and collaborate with professionals across the firm rather than simply observing. The program includes learning sessions, professional development events, and networking opportunities. You will also complete a capstone project to present to business leaders at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Construct and manipulate large data sets to perform quantitative analysis.
- Conduct back-testing and data analysis.
- Assist with research into current market trends and the investment environment.
- Develop and maintain investment algorithms.
- Support investment professionals in building and maintaining models for investment strategies.
- Contribute to the team research culture by asking questions, challenging assumptions, and participating in peer reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or computer science.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028, with plans to return to your academic program after the internship.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with a data modeling language, preferably Python.
- Ability to work with large data sets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in financial markets and investment strategies.
- Ability to work effectively both on a team and independently.
