    About the role#

    Momentive is looking for an intern to join the Adhesives and Sealants R&D team for the summer of 2027. You will investigate how formulation and processing factors affect the performance of adhesives containing functional fillers, such as thermally conductive and electrostatic dissipative materials. This project explores a formulation space using silicone copolymers and silanes to enhance performance for datacenter infrastructure. You will work under the guidance of a mentor to execute your project and adapt to an industrial environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Prepare adhesive formulations using processing methods like speedmixers and Ross mixers.
    • Measure performance through mechanical testing, adhesion tests, resistivity, and thermal conductivity.
    • Use analytical techniques such as microscopy to evaluate samples.
    • Conduct design of experiment procedures.
    • Analyze your results and summarize your findings.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Master or Ph.D. program in Chemical Engineering or Material Science.
    • Familiarity with bench work and material characterization.
    • Active enrollment in a degree program at the time of application and for at least one semester after the internship ends.
    • Experience with adhesion or nanomaterials is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Pearl River, New York.
    • The role requires 40 hours per week for 10 to 12 weeks between May and August 2027.
    • The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour.
