About the role#
MNP is hiring a Summer Student for the Assurance and Accounting team for a four-month term from May 2027 to August 2027. You will work as part of a team providing financial information to help clients make business decisions. This role is full-time and based on-site in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset acquisition.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to summarize status.
- Investigate and correct irregularities or discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
What you'll need#
- You are working toward a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- You are working toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is helpful.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is considered an asset.
