About the role#
Join our Assurance and Accounting team in Drayton Valley as a Summer Student for the 2027 season. You will work with a team of professionals to provide financial information that helps clients make informed business decisions. This is a full-time, on-site position starting in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Set up files for new clients and businesses, manage multiple projects, and conduct inventory counts.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial entries and documents.
- Perform walk-throughs for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and capital assets.
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and client presentations.
- Work with the client engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Travel as necessary for client work.
What you'll need#
- Completion of, or working toward, a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Completion of, or working toward, prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
