About the role#
MNP is seeking a Co-op CPA Articling Student to join the Domestic Tax team in Calgary for a 4-month term starting in September 2027. This role involves working within a professional team to deliver tax strategies, ensure compliance, and support client reporting requirements.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical proficiency in compilations, reviews, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, ASPE, and the Canadian Income Tax Act.
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses.
- Research tax issues and analyze potential implications.
- Collect and analyze financial data to prepare tax returns for various entities.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and reports.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and maintain professional relationships with client contacts.
- Contribute to process improvements using internal systems.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Working toward the necessary prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Program.
- Previous tax or accounting office experience is considered an asset.
- Customer or client service experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
