About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accounting Student for an 8-month term from January 2027 to August 2027. You will work within the Assurance and Accounting team to provide financial information that helps clients make informed business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Perform walk-throughs for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of audit evidence for revenues, expenses, and financial entries.
- Draft correspondence, technical reports, and presentations to communicate engagement findings.
- Set up files for new clients, manage multiple files, and conduct inventory counts.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and reports.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
