About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accounting Student for an eight-month term running from January 2027 to August 2027. You will join the Assurance and Accounting team to assist clients with financial information and reporting needs. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, compilations, reviews, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Set up files for new clients and businesses.
- Conduct inventory counts and perform walk-throughs for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Write technical reports, correspondence, and client summaries to outline engagement findings.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and maintain client relationships.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward prerequisites required for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Ability to travel when necessary.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience with client service or customer service is an asset.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is an asset.
