About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accounting Student for an eight-month term running from January 2027 through August 2027. You will join the Assurance and Accounting team to assist with financial reporting and client advisory services. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Melfort, Saskatchewan.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, tax, and bookkeeping.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple projects at once.
- Conduct inventory counts and walk-throughs for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and capital assets.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Prepare technical reports and client correspondence.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- You are working toward the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is helpful.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is a plus.
