About the role#
This is a part-time, paid internship with the Volunteer Services team. You will assist with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and support of volunteers across our sites. This role also supports the rollout of a new volunteer management system, including staff and volunteer training. You will be expected to work 15 hours per week, with shifts typically scheduled between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Interns must participate in three professional development seminars and complete a final presentation on May 23, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to volunteers and staff while building professional relationships.
- Support the implementation of a new volunteer management system, including system setup and training sessions.
- Manage volunteer recruitment and placement by posting opportunities and sending outreach emails.
- Represent the organization at community events and lead information sessions.
- Create and host in-person and online volunteer orientations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, or graduation within the last 12 months.
- A degree or progress toward a degree in History, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, or Event Management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a welcoming, customer-focused approach.
- High energy and comfort presenting or tabling at public events.
- Attention to detail and the ability to learn new software systems.

- Term: January 19, 2027 to May 23, 2027.
- Compensation: $17.02 per hour.
