    About the role#

    This internship in the Collections department provides practical experience in textile conservation and museum collection care. You will work under professional guidance to gain insight into long-term preservation needs and documentation standards. Interns are required to participate in three in-person professional development seminars and complete a final presentation at the end of the term.

    What you'll do#

    • Handle textile artifacts with care.
    • Perform condition assessments and write reports.
    • Complete basic hand sewing tasks.
    • Enter records into the collection database.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, or have graduated within the past 12 months.
    • Interest in textile conservation, ideally with a background or current studies in a textile conservation pre-program.
    • Experience handling fragile museum artifacts.
    • Familiarity with the purpose and use of museum condition reports.
    • Experience with database entry and good hand skills.

    • Location: St Paul, Minnesota.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January 19, 2027 to May 23, 2027).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Part-time, 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
    • Compensation: $17.02 per hour.
