About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in maintenance engineering at our corporate facility. You will work on projects related to equipment reliability, facility performance, and process improvement. You will collaborate with engineering team members and stakeholders to support daily operations and long-term facility goals.
What you'll do#
- Support daily Engineering Services activities and maintenance engineering projects.
- Assist with preventive maintenance planning, equipment reliability reviews, and facility systems documentation.
- Help restart and revitalize the facility energy management system by mining data and recommending energy use controls.
- Identify and propose capital projects for energy efficiency and facility improvement.
- Use MaintainX CMMS data to refine work plans, schedules, and maintenance task details.
- Analyze CMMS trends to identify equipment failure modes and reliability opportunities.
- Conduct data reviews, field observations, and technical analysis to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and support project execution.
- Create reports, presentations, and process documentation.
- Present project findings and recommendations to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or completed a BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Facilities Engineering.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Excel for data tracking and analysis.
- Interest in maintenance engineering, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Preferred: Exposure to CMMS tools, AutoCAD, HVAC, utilities, or mechanical and electrical systems.
- Preferred: Previous internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in manufacturing or technical problem solving.
Location & details#
- Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027 (11 to 12 weeks).
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- This is a paid position.
