About the role#
As a Firmware Engineering intern at Mill, you will join our team to work on embedded software and hardware validation for our consumer products. This role involves hands-on work with hardware components, lab equipment, and production code. You will support our development, testing, and debugging efforts as we move toward product launches.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on embedded software and hardware validation.
- Write, edit, and draft embedded code to control our systems.
- Provide hands-on support for system debugging during commissioning.
- Work with electrical engineers and product designers to troubleshoot and improve system performance.
- Implement and test prototype drivers on hardware systems.
What you'll need#
- A BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience writing and testing embedded C for controlling electromechanical components and reading sensors.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with embedded Linux systems, specifically Yocto.
- Proficiency in debugging hardware using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, or logic analyzers.
- Background in developing for loadcells, DC motors, PID controllers, and DC fans.
- Experience with Python scripting and CI/CD pipelines for production code.

- Term: Winter 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site, 5 days a week.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
