About the role#
As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will join our team to work on the design and validation of new products. This role involves hands-on work with hardware, lab equipment, and CAD design tools. You will contribute to the development of our consumer products by building, testing, and analyzing systems as we move toward mass production.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design and product validation.
- Build test setups and explore new methods for system control.
- Support system engineering testing by working with firmware and product designers to troubleshoot and improve performance.
- Develop prototypes and run tests to help move designs toward mass production maturity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for electro-mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Nx, though Solidworks or Fusion 360 are acceptable.
- Experience with various rapid prototyping methods.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with simulation tools like FEA or thermal analysis, as well as statistical analysis methods.
- Experience with designing for high volume manufacturing, including DFM and DFA.
