About the role#
Medtronic is offering full-time, paid Software Engineering internships for the Summer 2027 term. These positions last 10-11 weeks and require a 40-hour work week. Interns will join experienced teams working across software development, AI and data science, cloud engineering, quality, DevOps, systems, and firmware.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement software components, tools, and utilities.
- Support the development and execution of cloud strategy, including design, planning, and maintenance.
- Evaluate software system activities, including requirements, design, documentation, integration, and validation.
- Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to understand software domains, hardware interfaces, and system characteristics.
- Develop and execute test plans and scripts to detect problems in software applications and systems.
- Develop integrated software algorithms to structure and analyze data for product applications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Data Science.
- Ability to work full time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the internship.
- Current authorization to work in the United States. Please note that Medtronic does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Experience with programming languages or technical tools is preferred.

- These positions are on-site, with a requirement to be in the office a minimum of 4 days per week.
