About the role#
Medtronic offers full-time, paid engineering internships for Summer 2027. These positions last 10-11 weeks and provide students with hands-on experience in medical technology. Interns are expected to work on-site at least 4 days per week.
What you'll do#
Depending on the specific team and business needs, interns may support work in Research and Development, Operations, or Quality Engineering. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the design, development, analysis, and testing of engineering solutions.
- Contributing to system integration, verification, validation, and risk analysis.
- Designing and supporting manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance.
- Conducting data analysis and supporting reliability studies to meet product targets.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, or Data Science.
- An anticipated graduation date of Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated experience in engineering design, testing, or manufacturing through academic projects, research, or previous work.
- Current, unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Please note that Medtronic does not provide work authorization sponsorship for these internship positions.

- Locations: Opportunities are available in Fridley, MN; Tempe, AZ; Eatontown, NJ; Santa Rosa, CA; Lafayette, CO; Boulder, CO; Plymouth, MN; Mounds View, MN; Irvine, CA; North Haven, CT; Memphis, TN; Newton, MA; Dexter, MI; Santa Ana, CA; Mansfield, MA; Fort Worth, TX; Minneapolis, MN; Brooklyn Center, MN; Jacksonville, FL; Boston, MA; and Brooklyn Park, MN.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week) from June 1 through August 13 (semester system) or June 14 through August 20 (quarter system).
- Compensation: The hourly pay range for this position is $26.50 to $45.25.
