About the role#
As a QA Automation Engineer Intern, you will contribute to the quality and reliability of retail systems by designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests for business-critical applications and workflows. You will gain hands-on experience in quality engineering, test automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), defect analysis, and AI-assisted software engineering. You will work within a collaborative environment alongside QA engineers, developers, business analysts, product owners, and DevOps teams.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for retail systems, business workflows, and application integrations.
- Use AI-powered tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, to accelerate the creation, optimization, and maintenance of automated test scripts.
- Support testing for retail application functionality, regression scenarios, end-to-end business processes, APIs, data validation, and system integrations.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve software defects.
- Analyze test results, investigate failures, and document findings.
- Contribute to the improvement of automation frameworks, standards, and reusable components.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (such as Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Basic programming knowledge in JavaScript, Vue.js, PHP, Java, Python, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps concepts.
- Basic understanding of Git version control.
- Interest in software quality assurance, test automation, and modern development practices.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

- Location: Montreal (Ville Saint-Laurent), Quebec, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026, to December 31, 2026).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
