About the role#
Humber River Health is looking for a Student Nurse Extern to join the Critical Care 6 East team. This is a temporary part-time position that runs until March 31, 2027. You will work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends in 8 or 12 hour blocks.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct personal support to patients.
- Assist up to 6 patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, and feeding.
- Document patient activities of daily living and relevant communication.
- Report any clinical concerns immediately to your direct supervisor.
- Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in years 2-4 of a nursing program.
- A valid CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with inter-professional healthcare team members.
- Understanding of technology use in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to comply with all mandatory training requirements, including privacy, safety, and hygiene modules.
