About the role#
The Associate Business Systems Analyst Intern contributes to business process improvement, data initiatives, and technology projects at McKesson Canada. Working alongside business stakeholders, product owners, and the Data Hub Canada team, you will help identify business needs, document requirements, analyze processes, and validate solutions to improve operational performance. This role provides exposure to data engineering practices and modern data management platforms, focusing on integration initiatives and data-driven solutions.
What you'll do#
- Document business requirements and maintain traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Participate in requirement gathering sessions and assist in design discussions with user communities and technical teams.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and support solution delivery.
- Analyze business processes and data needs to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Support stakeholder meetings to capture feedback and translate decisions into actionable delivery artifacts.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and backlog refinement.
- Assist in creating user stories, including acceptance criteria and documentation of data contracts, business rules, and data lineage.
- Support user acceptance testing and document results to validate solution functionality.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Health Administration, or Nursing.
- Knowledge of business analysis techniques, including requirements gathering, stakeholder analysis, and process modeling.
- Understanding of requirements traceability and the ability to align business needs with solution design.
- Basic knowledge of databases, data management concepts, and SQL for data querying.
- Familiarity with data integration, ETL/ELT concepts, or data warehousing.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Ability to produce clear documentation, such as process maps, user stories, and operational procedures.
