About the role#
The Associate Business Systems Analyst Intern contributes to business process improvement, data initiatives, and technology projects at McKesson Canada. Working alongside business stakeholders, product owners, and the Data Hub Canada team, this role focuses on identifying business needs, documenting requirements, and validating solutions to improve operational performance. This is a learning-oriented position designed to provide foundational experience in business analysis, data requirement management, Agile delivery methods, and solution validation.
What you'll do#
- Document business requirements and maintain traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Participate in requirement gathering sessions and assist in design discussions with user communities and technical teams.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and support solution delivery.
- Analyze business processes and data-related needs to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Support stakeholder meetings to capture feedback and translate decisions into actionable delivery artifacts.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and backlog refinement.
- Assist in creating and refining user stories, including acceptance criteria and delivery notes.
- Develop and maintain process maps, workflow documentation, and data documentation to support solution implementation.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to facilitate communication regarding requirements and project impacts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or college program in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Health Administration, or Nursing.
- Knowledge of business analysis techniques, including requirement gathering, stakeholder analysis, and process modeling.
- Understanding of requirements traceability and its role in aligning business needs with solution design.
- Basic understanding of databases and data management concepts.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL and data querying techniques.
- Familiarity with data integration, ETL/ELT concepts, or data warehousing.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to produce clear documentation, including user stories and operational procedures.
- Interest in cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, or AWS.
