About the role#
We are looking for an R&D Intern to join our team at the Munising Mill for a 10-plus week program starting in May 2027. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship focused on real-time production and process experience. You will work alongside our scientists and leadership to contribute to projects that impact our manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the R&D team on process efficiency, cost savings, and new business development.
- Identify paper properties and participate in customer trials.
- Attend leadership meetings to report on progress and complete assigned tasks.
- Work with leadership to update or create standard operating procedures.
- Manage project work as assigned by R&D management.
What you'll need#
- At least 18 years of age.
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Paper Science.
- Completion of at least one full year of coursework, though two years is preferred.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA in your field of study is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Ability to analyze data, communicate findings, and work well within a team.
