About the role#
The Financial Planning Intern supports our staff in servicing high net worth clients. You will gain hands-on experience in financial planning, client relationship management, and business development. This role focuses on helping our advisors through the client onboarding process, meeting preparation, and the creation of financial plans.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and process paperwork for client onboarding.
- Schedule client meetings and create materials to explain financial concepts.
- Observe client meetings to see how advisors build relationships and solve problems.
- Handle follow-up tasks such as documentation, research, and solution development.
- Support account maintenance and money movement processes.
- Use financial planning and CRM software for data management and plan modeling.
- Assist with data entry and compiling plan deliverables.
- Contribute ideas during team discussions about client service and business development.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor or master degree in wealth management, financial planning, finance, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date within 12 months of the internship start.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- Interest in a client-facing advisory career.
- Strong customer service orientation and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, relatable way.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willingness to learn financial planning tools and CRM systems.
- Ability to contribute ideas in group settings.
