About the role#
The Retirement Sales Internship at Manulife John Hancock provides an immersive professional experience within the retirement sales division. This program is designed to build a pipeline of future talent by exposing students to sales strategy, financial products, and client engagement. Interns work alongside internal sales leadership and business partners to gain practical knowledge and expand their professional network.
What you'll do#
- Build foundational knowledge of investments, financial products, privacy, compliance, and the business model.
- Train on core sales systems including Salesforce, Brightscope Beacon, and various investment comparison tools.
- Conduct research, prepare reports, and contribute to internal projects to support retirement sales divisions.
- Participate in networking sessions with subject matter experts across departments like National Accounts, Investments, Marketing, and Product.
- Engage in professional development workshops and receive coaching from sales leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Finance, Sales, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in a career in finance or sales after graduation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Preferred: Prior internship or work experience in financial services, sales, or client-facing roles.
- Preferred: Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce and demonstrated leadership experience.
