This internship supports the Development Team at Make-A-Wish Alabama. The role focuses on the planning and execution of special events, individual giving initiatives, and corporate alliances. Interns will gain exposure to the operational side of non-profit development and may have the opportunity to attend events occurring outside of standard business hours.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and execution of special events.
- Conduct research to support event planning and obtain vendor quotes.
- Manage data entry and utilize the donor database to pull information.
- Solicit silent auction items for upcoming events.
- Communicate with vendors, donors, and wish families via phone and mass email.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Public Health.
- Experience or interest in planning special events.
- Proficiency in data entry and mass emailing.
- Ability to manage professional communications with vendors and donors.
- Skills in soliciting auction items.
