About the role#
We are looking for a Purchasing Intern to join our team in Muncie, Indiana. This is a full-time, paid position. You will support our purchasing operations and inventory management processes within the automotive manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Maintain accurate records for all purchasing items.
- Coordinate with purchasing staff regarding incoming shipments.
- Monitor inventory levels for spare parts used in production lines and maintenance.
- Ensure department associates have the supplies they need to perform their work using our internal purchasing process.
- Maintain minimum stock levels for spare parts.
- Work with the team to ensure operations run effectively and efficiently.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An interest in supplier quality management and automotive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of quality standards like ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC is a plus.
