About the role#
Magna International is hiring a System Engineering Student to join our powertrain and NVH teams in Troy, Michigan. This role is a full-time, paid internship available for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will work on-site, gaining hands-on experience in the lab while supporting the development of advanced powertrain and driveline technologies.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical, electrical, and controls design projects.
- Assist in the acquisition, assembly, and testing of prototypes.
- Conduct industry research to support lead engineers.
- Analyze NVH performance of driveline products using specialized instrumentation, hardware, and software.
- Collaborate with design and testing departments on product concept development.
- Improve NVH development methods and integrate them into existing processes.
- Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited engineering program, specifically Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with computer-based software, including 3D CAD.
- A solid understanding of engineering theory and design principles.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
