About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program for students interested in Wealth Management and Trust Administration. You will join the team at M&T Bank and Wilmington Trust to gain professional experience through project work, department initiatives, and networking opportunities. This is a full-time, paid position that includes exposure to various bank departments through guest speakers and career development workshops.
What you'll do#
- Work with the Trust Administration team to manage client relationships and understand trust systems.
- Analyze trust documents and prepare memos regarding administrative and governing terms.
- Evaluate distribution and termination requests and prepare client books for prospective and existing clients.
- Meet with stakeholders across the organization, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Relationship Management teams.
- Observe committee meetings focused on trust administration, such as distributions and unique assets.
- Collaborate on a final capstone project, which involves preparing a client book and presenting a pitch meeting.
- Ensure all activities follow internal policies, external regulations, and risk control standards.
- Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated computer skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
