Musket Trading and Commodities Internship (Summer 2027)

About the role#

The Musket Trading and Commodities Internship offers students hands-on experience within an energy trading environment. Based at our headquarters in Houston, this program immerses participants in the daily operations of a commodities trading company. Interns will be placed within specific business groups—such as supply and trading, alternative fuels, middle office, trade risk and compliance, or commercial operations—to gain practical industry knowledge and professional development.

What you'll do#

• Perform market analysis to support business operations.
• Handle product inventory reconciliation.
• Assist with trade risk reporting and cost analysis.
• Conduct data research and validation.
• Take on additional responsibilities based on current business needs.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year university program (sophomore level or above).
• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Economics or Finance), Business Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, Quantitative studies, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills; experience with Python or SQL is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities.
• Past internship experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to perform typical office tasks, including prolonged sitting and lifting up to 25 pounds.
