About the role#
As a Nurse Extern at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, you will gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting. This position offers flexible PRN hours to accommodate your school schedule. You are required to work a minimum of one shift per month, with shift lengths ranging from 4 to 12 hours. Shifts are available during the day, mid-day, or at night.

- Perform technical nursing skills following established policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Apply age-related care factors to meet patient needs.
- Resolve customer complaints and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Demonstrate integrity and respect in all interactions.
- Provide a positive first impression for everyone you encounter.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a School of Nursing.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
