About the role#
As a Nurse Extern in the NICU, you will provide basic and intermediate nursing care for an assigned group of patients. You will work under the direction and supervision of an RN to assist with patient needs and ensure comfort. This is a part-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Provide essential assistance and comfort to patients.
- Deliver nursing care based on your current level of competence.
- Complete all established position competencies within the introductory period.
- Perform other related nursing duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing.
- Completion of at least one semester of clinicals in an RN program.
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) upon hire.
- AHA Healthcare Provider BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
- Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training within 60 days if working in ED or Behavioral Health areas, or before serving as a constant observer.
