About the role#
The Nurse Extern works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to support patient care. You will assist with daily living activities, perform procedures, and report clinical observations. This role requires you to maintain a professional image and practice within a Shared Governance model of nursing.
What you'll do#
- Observe patients and communicate changes in their condition to the Registered Nurse.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Perform clinical procedures and report observations.
- Use standard precaution and isolation procedures to keep the environment safe for staff, visitors, and patients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Nursing program.
- Ability to perform duties in an ethical manner.
- Commitment to patient safety, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Professional conduct at all times.
