About the role#
As a Respiratory Student at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, you will assist in treating patients with breathing-related conditions. You will work alongside our team to perform diagnostic testing, implement treatment plans, and provide patient education. This is a part-time position based in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Administer therapeutic gases, humidification, nebulization, and aerosolized medications.
- Perform various therapies including chest physiotherapy, flutter valve, incentive spirometry, PEP, and IPPB.
- Manage BiPAP/CPAP administration as prescribed.
- Perform arterial punctures, bedside pulmonary function testing, and oximetry studies.
- Assist with patient transport, equipment maintenance, and sterilization of respiratory tools.
- Document patient care accurately and ensure all patient charges are entered daily.
- Participate in clinical research projects and cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts.
- Attend department meetings and complete mandatory hospital competencies.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a Respiratory Care program.
- Completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations in a Respiratory Care program.
- Current CPR certification.
Location & details#
- Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
- Schedule: Approximately 4-8 hours per week with shifts based on your availability.
- Flexibility: Weekend work is optional and no holidays are required.
- Work Modality: On-site.
