About the role#
This internship program offers undergraduate students the chance to engage in practical research during the fall of 2026. You will work alongside scientists, engineers, and technical staff to support projects in computational science, cyber defense, mathematics, and related STEM disciplines. This is a full-time, paid position that runs from September 1, 2026, through December 18, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical and research support to ongoing projects.
- Gather and analyze data to support scientific research goals.
- Participate in research planning and evaluation discussions.
- Attend at least one relevant seminar per week.
- Present your findings through presentations or poster sessions.
What you'll need#
- You must be a continuing undergraduate student in good standing at an accredited institution.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or Cybersecurity.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to apply basic computational or mathematical principles to solve problems.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- You must be age 18 or older at the start of the internship.
- You must be eligible to access the laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act.

- The position is based in Livermore, California.
- This role offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for some work from home depending on your specific assignment.
- Selected applicants must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
