This graduate internship program offers hands-on research experience in computational science and related STEM fields. Interns work alongside scientists, engineers, and technical staff to support projects in areas including cyber defense, numerical methods, and mathematics. This is a full-time, paid position running from September 1, 2026, through December 18, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical and research support for projects in computational science and related areas.
- Support the documentation, testing, and modification of Laboratory software or hardware.
- Conduct research in assigned areas under limited direction.
- Perform technical assignments of basic to moderate complexity.
- Attend at least one relevant seminar per week.
- Present your work through formal presentations or poster sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or pursuit of a graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, or related STEM fields by Winter/Spring 2027.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Eligibility to access the Laboratory in compliance with NDAA Section 3112.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Age 18 or older at the start of the internship.
Location & details#
- Location: Livermore, California.
- Modality: Hybrid, with the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week depending on the assignment.
- Compensation: $10,215 monthly.
