About the role#
The Fixed Income Strats Summer Associate Program is a 10-week internship for students to work on quantitative projects. You will join an assigned team for the duration of the program, receiving individual coaching and feedback. The program begins with a one-week training session covering market knowledge, finance, coding, and product training. You will work alongside full-time professionals to solve complex problems in trading, risk management, and derivative structuring.
What you'll do#
- Develop mathematical models for trading and risk mitigation of asset-backed securities.
- Price highly structured or distressed credit products.
- Implement tools and business reporting solutions to improve performance indicator management.
- Create and deliver data-driven insights and workflow innovations for internal and external clients.
- Assist the desk with pricing incoming trades and moving models into production.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD or Master's program in a quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Programming proficiency in C++, Java, Matlab, Python, R, or Scala.
- Strong mathematical academic training.
- Interest in financial markets and the ability to work in a team environment.
