About the role#
Our Retail Accounting Department in Onalaska, WI, manages auditing for over 800 retail store locations. As an Accounting Intern, you will support the team in ensuring accurate merchandise invoice reporting. You will verify costs and margins on received invoices to maintain financial accuracy across our retail operations.
What you'll do#
- Verify that store-entered invoices are correct.
- Identify items causing out-of-balance invoices.
- Maintain correct costs in the system and enter vendor invoice corrections as needed.
- Document invoice corrections for store locations.
- Manage the flow of electronic documentation throughout the Support Center.
- Assist with department analysis regarding merchandise inventory.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting or similar degree program.
- Strong data entry, organizational, and clerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to perform basic math, understand numbers, and recognize debits and credits.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems is preferred.
- Prior bookkeeping or retail experience is a plus.
- Physical ability to twist, bend, reach regularly, and lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.

- Location: Onalaska, WI.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Some weekend hours may be required. We offer flexibility for school scheduling.
