About the role#
Kuraray America, Inc. offers a summer internship for students interested in chemical manufacturing. This role provides hands-on experience in a plant environment, balancing daily operational tasks with a dedicated project. You will work alongside experienced chemical engineers to support plant processes and reliability initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Learn about Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC) by participating in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and creating MOC packages.
- Analyze process and SAP data to help the Cost Kaizen La Porte Team.
- Develop project charters focused on reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Assist engineers with troubleshooting process equipment in VAM and PVOH units.
- Help develop scopes for Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects and maintenance activities.
- Complete an internship project and present your findings to plant management.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited B.S. program for Chemical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of college coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A track record of initiative, integrity, and adaptability.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process.
- Minimum age of 18.
