About the role#
The Project Engineer Intern will support capital projects at our chemical manufacturing facility. You will work alongside project engineers to manage project elements from initial feasibility studies through to final field implementation. This role involves balancing technical engineering tasks with field supervision to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Develop project scopes, cost estimates, bid packages, and equipment specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations, such as pump and pipe sizing, pressure drop analysis, and heat and material balances.
- Supervise field work to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors while attending site visits and progress meetings.
- Track project schedules, milestones, risks, and costs.
- Prepare technical documentation, including as-built drawings, MOC documents, and construction packages.
- Participate in safety activities like PHAs, PSSRs, and MOC reviews.
- Collaborate with the production, maintenance, and process safety teams to resolve project issues.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of college education before the start of the internship.
- A minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and a record of extracurricular achievement.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to gather input from various sources and document progress clearly.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and integrity.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment screening process.
