    About the role#

    Kuraray America, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. You will work on a mix of daily tasks and a major project, gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.

    What you'll do#

    • Identify and implement strategies to reduce recycling volumes.
    • Coordinate capital procurement for spare SentryGlas components and Line 4 equipment.
    • Collaborate with project engineers on Management of Change documentation.
    • Manage recycle rates and inventory levels in partnership with SentryGlas operations.
    • Support the qualification process for a new Lowinox vendor.
    • Assist with the qualification and commissioning of new laboratory testing equipment.
    • Participate in local and global yield improvement meetings.
    • Lead a Test Authorization initiative to evaluate UV absorber concentration and UV transmission.
    • Transition the CADD Drawing System to a SharePoint-based platform.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
    • Completion of at least one year of college education prior to the start of the internship.
    • A minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and a record of extracurricular achievement.
    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
    • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
    • Self-motivation, adaptability, and a willingness to take initiative.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process.
    • Minimum age of 18 years.
