About the role#
This full-time internship takes place during the Summer of 2027 at our manufacturing facility in St. Joseph, Missouri. You will gain hands-on experience in chemical engineering with a specific focus on warehouse logistics and supply chain operations. This role is designed to help you apply your engineering studies to real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with the design, analysis, and optimization of chemical and manufacturing processes.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret process and experimental data.
- Support process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Monitor process performance and help identify operational issues.
- Prepare technical reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance.
- Follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Completion of or current enrollment in core coursework such as material and energy balances or thermodynamics.
- A basic understanding of chemical engineering principles and unit operations.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and engineering standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work in a changing environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
