About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in providing safe and accurate medication services to customers. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to handle daily operations, assist with clinical tasks, and ensure that customers receive helpful service.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system accurately.
- Dispense correct medications and bag filled prescriptions for delivery to customers.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
- Accept and interpret oral or written prescriptions for refills.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock to the pharmacy.
- Maintain a clean and organized department while following safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- The ability to work cooperatively and handle conflict in a professional manner.
- Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Capability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
