About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern at Kroger, you will work on-site to support our pharmacy operations. This full-time, paid position offers a rolling term for students pursuing a career in pharmacy. You will assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient department while providing high-quality service to our customers.
What you'll do#
- Create a positive customer experience and answer questions about products throughout the store.
- Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while following quality assurance standards.
- Input patient and prescription data into the computer system and dispense medications accurately.
- Interpret prescriptions, contact prescribers for authorization, and manage third-party insurance claims.
- Provide drug counseling and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by checking, stocking, and returning medication bottles.
- Maintain a clean department and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a United States school of pharmacy.
- A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Commitment to promoting trust and respect among all associates.
