About the role#
Knife River Corporation is offering an internship opportunity for students interested in a career in cybersecurity. This position provides on-the-job training and skill development within a construction industry environment. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Bismarck, North Dakota.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members on daily cybersecurity tasks.
- Participate in structured on-the-job training.
- Support incident response efforts.
- Maintain consistent communication with team leads.
- Follow established directions to maintain workflow and security protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in a college degree program for Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related Information Technology field.
- Strong academic performance.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including encryption, phishing, access and least privilege, security logging and monitoring (SIEM), and vulnerability management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and an interest in troubleshooting and solutioning.
- Ability to maintain proprietary and confidential information.
Location & details#
- Location: Bismarck, North Dakota.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Minimum of 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Employment Type: Full-time internship.
