Knife River Corporation is seeking a full-time Project Engineer Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This role provides hands-on experience in construction project operations, estimating, and subcontractor coordination based in Belgrade, Montana.
What you'll do#
- Assist estimators in producing timely and accurate take-offs.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to ensure complete estimates.
- Solicit and negotiate with subcontractors.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to formulate estimates and resolve project issues.
- Support project managers and superintendents with daily project operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or Architecture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, Word, and Project.
- Knowledge of Agtek or AutoCAD is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy requirements.
- Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and participate in random drug testing throughout employment.
