About the role#
Knife River Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for a full-time position during the summer of 2026. This role is based on-site in Belgrade, Montana. The intern will support the project team by assisting with estimates, take-offs, and daily project operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist estimators in providing timely and accurate take-offs for project estimates.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and related documentation to ensure estimates are complete.
- Solicit and negotiate with subcontractors.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss estimates and resolve project issues.
- Support project managers and superintendents with various project operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Project.
- Knowledge of Agtek or AutoCAD is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and a qualifying driving record according to company policy.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
