About the role#
Knife River is hiring a Project Engineer Intern for the summer of 2026. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Belgrade, Montana. You will work closely with our teams to support project operations and estimation workflows.
What you'll do#
- Help estimators create accurate take-offs for project estimates.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to ensure estimates are complete.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal staff to resolve issues and formulate estimates.
- Solicit and negotiate with subcontractors.
- Support project managers and superintendents with daily project operations.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Business Administration.
- You are fluent in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Project.
- A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
- Experience with Agtek or AutoCad is preferred.
- You must pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test and participate in random testing during your employment.
