About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will support our new product development team. This role provides hands-on engineering experience and exposure to the full product lifecycle. You will work alongside our engineering and manufacturing teams to refine designs, test products, and improve production processes.
What you'll do#
- Create and post-process 3D prints for team review.
- Design and build prototypes and test fixtures.
- Create or modify basic models and prints.
- Coordinate with the engineering team to submit products to the test lab.
- Conduct product testing in the lab and report your findings.
- Analyze test results to provide data-driven recommendations.
- Partner with the manufacturing team to suggest process improvements.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering field.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with computers and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Capacity to manage confidential information, prioritize tasks, and stay organized.
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $26 per hour.
- Status: Full-time, rolling internship.
- Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and perform tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, and balancing.
